Send the information that makes a quote useful
Prepare these details before you request a quotation. A defined requirement helps avoid assumptions about material, tooling, inspection and delivery.
What to include in your inquiry
Your drawing and project brief
Drawing revision, alloy, critical dimensions, surface finish, quantities, inspection requirements, packaging and destination.
- Drawing & revision
- Share a 2D drawing and 3D model, with units and revision.
- Material
- Specify the alloy grade and applicable material standard.
- Critical dimensions
- Mark datums, fits and critical features on the drawing.
- Surface finish
- Describe coating, color, cosmetic zones and exposure conditions.
- Order volume
- Include sample quantity, production batch and annual demand.
Avoid missing scope
Include the assembly context
Attach the mating-part geometry where fit, sealing or alignment matters. Identify purchased items, inserts, fasteners and any assembly operations expected from the supplier. If the drawing is still being developed, say which dimensions are provisional and which interfaces are already fixed.
