Application
Define the part in its assembly
Bearing locations and mating faces often drive the machining plan. Supply datum references and leak-test criteria rather than a general tolerance alone.
Hiyet Metal reviews custom component projects from the drawing and intended application. The drawing revision defines the supply scope; a catalog illustration is a starting point for discussion, not a fixed specification or a stocked item.
Engineering considerations
What drives the specification
- 01
Bearing bores and concentricity
Show which bearing seats must be evaluated together and provide the required fit scheme.
- 02
Sealing faces and porosity requirements
Identify finished sealing faces and define the conditions for any leak test.
- 03
Assembly loads and fastener locations
Include fastener loads and attachment geometry to distinguish structural interfaces from protective surfaces.
Manufacturing route
From drawing to a controlled part
- 01
Material & process
Aluminum or magnesium. Specify the grade and standard, not just the metal family. Geometry, wall transitions, internal passages and order volume determine whether the proposed casting and machining route is suitable.
- 02
Critical dimensions
Use a functional datum scheme and identify fitted or sealing surfaces. Agree which features are machined and how the finished part will be measured after any coating.
- 03
Surface finish
Separate cosmetic surfaces from functional contacts. Include corrosion exposure, color requirements, masked areas and packaging protection for the surfaces that matter.
What to include in your inquiry
A useful quotation starts here
These are custom-manufactured components, not stocked standard parts. Final geometry, alloy, tolerances, finish, minimum order quantity and lead time are confirmed after drawing review.
- Drawing & revision
- Share a 2D drawing and 3D model, with units and revision.
- Material
- Specify the alloy grade and applicable material standard.
- Critical dimensions
- Mark datums, fits and critical features on the drawing.
- Surface finish
- Describe coating, color, cosmetic zones and exposure conditions.
- Order volume
- Include sample quantity, production batch and annual demand.
HIYET METAL
Before we begin
Can you manufacture from our drawings?+
Send your 2D drawing and 3D model with revision, material, critical dimensions and volume. The manufacturing route and commercial terms are confirmed after review.
What are the lead time and minimum order quantity?+
They depend on tooling, part geometry, alloy, finish and quantity. Ask for a project-specific quotation; there is no universal lead time or minimum order.
Are illustrations standard products available to order?+
The illustrations show component families. Parts are custom-made to an agreed specification; the images are not dimensional drawings or proof of tested performance.
How are quality requirements agreed?+
Identify critical characteristics and required reports at the inquiry stage. Inspection methods and acceptance criteria should be confirmed before production.
